Resources: Consciousness
"Consciousness of an individual is the sum total of what one is, what one has become.
Each of us is in a continuous state of becoming. The more evolved one is, the greater is our consciousness, and the higher the level of our consciousness".

In conscious spirituality terms, there is a growing international awareness amongst medical academics, scientists, researchers, seekers of truth and others that as human beings we consist of more than the physical organ of a brain in terms of communication.
In simple everyday terms, consciousness could best be described as the sum total of who we really are right now. If you can accept the premise that Pierre le Chardin, Silver Birch and Spiritual Light teachings put forward, that we are human beings having a spiritual experience on this earth, then this makes rational sense. Beyond the transition known as death, consciousness is said to still be an active part of our ‘spirit’. Testament to this is our communication with the etheric or spirit worlds, and also with non-human intelligences. Examples of this come from people from all walks of life who have encountered experiences of being outside of their sleeping or unconscious self. For instance, people lying on an operating table in a hospital theatre whilst under anaesthetic have actually recalled conversations taking place between nurses and doctors as the operation was occurring. Others have experienced a clear sense of being in another geographic location and have been able to describe their surroundings or landmarks. People have also recalled visitations and even mind conversations with others from the etheric or spiritual realms who were known to them before they passed over. The following writers discuss the various components of the determinants of consciousness: Harry R. Moody, Kendra Cherry, Frederico Faggin, Foundation of Mind-Being Research (FMBR), Marilyn Schiltz, Spiritual Light teachings, Carl Jung and Ron Pevny. CONSCIOUSNESS SELECTION
