So many people walk around with a meaningless life. They seem half-asleep, even when they're busy doing things they think are important. This is because they're chasing the wrong things. The way you get meaning into your life is to devote yourself to loving others, devote yourself to your community around you, and devote yourself to creating something that gives you purpose and meaning.

Pathways Talks

To raise public awareness of conscious spiritual pathways literature, practices and themes, 15-30 minute interactive talks are offered in southern Tasmania. Presentations can focus on specific themes as featured on this website. Alternately, an introductory overview of research, exploration, and life-long experiences is offered.

Enquiries welcomed from the secretary, community officer, or coordinator of small or large groups.
Introductory Soul Pathways course - Mather's House, 2017 [Now concluded]

Thank you to all 10 participants who actively contributed in these introductory 'Soul Pathways' discussion sessions. These sessions concluded on May 24th 2017. New linkages of like minded people were made, an awareness of a broad range of 'Soul Pathways' literature themes, and subsequent distribution sheets made for many harmonious meetings.

Some members have now enrolled for The Universal Brother&Sisterhood, USB, Spiritual Light sessions commencing July 12. (see opposite).

Home Circle of Wisdom group

A Circle of Wisdom group met in Howrah, Tasmania, for two hours each fortnight from 2013 until 2016. The six participants, whose ages range from 60 to 90, came from varying backgrounds, and each contributed life-long learning experiences to the discussions.  Although facilitated by Philip, collectively the group selected the discussion themes.

Participating in a circle meeting invites and inspires individuals to contribute with an open mind, heart and spirit, while also seeking to question anything that does not resonate for them.

Mindful meditation, discussion of conscious spiritual topics, watching relevant DVDs, reading of resource information sheets and, of course, afternoon tea are included. In principle, there is general acceptance that, while retaining an informal atmosphere in meetings, Circle of Wisdom groups are intentionally mindful discussion and meditation meetings, and not just social gatherings.

Further information? If you are interested in starting your own regular circle of wisdom group, see The Circle Way website for more details, or contact Philip.

IONS Conscious Aging program was initially developed based on research over four years.

While the
program is specifically designed to reflect conversations, life transitions and transformations impacting on those of us over the age of 50 (who are now ‘journeying the second half of life’), the program may be equally interesting for people of any age who are involved in conscious ageing developments.
PictureThe Four Principles of Conscious Ageing

“Aging is not merely about the body losing its poise, strength and self trust.  Aging also invites you to become aware of the sacred circle that shelters your life.”

IONS Conscious Aging Manual
- John O’ Donoghue in "Anam Cara: A Book of Celtic Wisdom"

As an accredited facilitator for the Institute of Noetic Sciences (IONS) Conscious Aging Program, Philip offers this comprehensive 8 x two-hour session program, with an accompanying participant IONS Workbook (provided at cost price) in southern Tasmania. Each individual session theme can be facilitated sequentially over an 8-10 week period. Alternately, individual  topic sessions can be designed to suit your group’s needs.
IONS Program Structure - Key Themes
1. Introduction to Conscious Ageing
2. Self - Compassion
3. Forgiveness
4. Life review
5. Transformative practice
6. Death Makes Life Possible
7. Surrender - Letting Go
8. Creating a New Vision of Ageing.
To gain maximum benefits from this program, groups need to consist of five or more participants, with a maximum of twenty. Each session consists of focused discussion in both small and large groups, journal writing, guided practices, exercises, and more.

In Spiritual Light - the complete official teachings of the USB - a group of Illumined Souls of the most advanced wisdom and spirituality, yet who are humble, offer us their collective knowledge of truth, of spiritual laws, and of a way of life to bring peace and harmony to us all. These souls seek to spiritualise and unite humanity, to awaken people to the many spiritual realities of life, and to thereby avoid the misery and havoc we create on earth.

The key purposes of USB teachings include:
  • To study Spiritual Light from an after-life perspective in a non-religious way
  • To learn, so we can better help others (spirituality in action)
  • To help us understand how the greatest spiritual teachers of all time want to work with us and how we can cooperate with them
  • Understanding the Law of Service in making this world a better place.
As a volunteer member of The Universal Brother&Sisterhood based in Australia, I am offering sessions involving discussion of the USB literature in Hobart, Tasmania.  See information about these sessions above.

Accepting, or rejecting, any of the teaching as detailed in Spiritual Light can be considered a prerequisite to further study, sharing or participation in spiritual practices. For me, having been interested in conscious spiritual awareness since 1973, USB teachings provide deep and profound wisdom of our individual spirit’s potential progress, and spiritual development.
